Judges 8:4 – And Gideon came to the Jordan and crossed over, he and the 300 men who were with him, exhausted yet pursuing.
Message
Gideon and his 300 soldiers came to their zero ends after crossing River Jordan. One thing that challenges me so much in this 301 group of soldiers is the fact that they were exhausted and at the climax of their exhaustion were confronted by mockers on the left and right yet they did not quit the fight for victory.
Dear readers, don’t quit your fight of faith no matter what. If you don’t quit, you will have cause to rejoice at the end no matter how it ends.
Reading further on Gideon’s story in the same chapter, I discovered that their fainting point was just a stone throw to their deliverance and total victory from medianitish oppression. Out of 135,000 enemies; they had already conquered 120,000 without their knowledge (vs. 10) If they had given attention to their mockers and the distractions (what to eat, what drink, what wear, bills to pay etc) they would have lost the battle at the edge of victory. Mat. 6:33 – seek first the pleasure of God.
Be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit especially when your challenge(s) begins to accelerate to a higher gear and your friends and family deny you of help within their reach and use your situation to taunt you in addition.
Be careful to listen and obey the voice of the Holy Spirit within you and not the voice of your flesh which may be telling you to quit trusting God, to pick offence, to meditate on all the damaging criticism around you in an unhealthy manner and help yourself!
Prayer:
– Holy Spirit, help me to be more aware of you presence and your help
– I receive grace to keep pressing no matter what IJN
Meditate:
Mat. 6:25-33
