Proof of Christianity (Part 6) – Faith

Text:   Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Nobody knows God like himself. It is important that we believe that God is who He says He is and accept as true that He will do what He said He will do. Our text today says in Hebrews 11:6 that “But without faith, it is impossible to please him …” We are born again by faith and must continue to live by faith. As Christians, if we depend on reasons, it will fail us because the foundation of our being born again is by faith. Faith and reason are opposite when it concerns the workings of Almighty God. While reason obeys the natural laws, on the contrary faith only obeys the supernatural laws. Faith and reason cannot work together because the two cannot agree and the bible says two cannot work together unless they agreed.

A man without faith will continue to render the power of God of no effect in his situation. In the book of Matthew 14:28-31, at the request of Simon Peter, Jesus welcomed him to walk with him on the sea and Peter continued to walk on the sea until his faith failed him. Faith is what motivates Christians to be obedient to God even when the issues at hand seem not to make sense. If we have faith that God is good and that his plan for us is good not of evil and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him; our Christian race will continue to be blissful.
